Cabbage Stew with a bite!. I come for inspiration, with a side of humor. As I told Mary, of Deep South Dish, even us old pro's stock pot runs dry now and then. Besides, it's so much more interesting seeing how others do things.
Eating healthy vegan meals doesn't always mean you have to sacrifice flavor.
This is one of those recipes that truly is flavorful with earthy spices.
Tried this, was good but turned out very thick, more like a stew than a soup.
You can have Cabbage Stew with a bite! using 8 ingredients and 5 steps. Here is how you cook it.
Ingredients of Cabbage Stew with a bite!
- Prepare 1/3 of cabbage.
- Prepare 1 of turnip.

- You need 1 of zucchini.
- Prepare 2 box of vegetable broth.

I would recommend adding the cabbage first, as the inner thicker parts of the cabbage were a bit under done when made according to recipe. Overall great flavor, my wife adds a package of brown gravy mix to her stuffed cabbage as well, which I did add to this soup. Cut sausage into bite-size pieces and brown in stew pot. Cut cabbage and potatoes into bite-size squares.
Cabbage Stew with a bite! step by step
- Put broth into crock pot..
- Chop all vegetables and add into broth..

- Serve and enjoy!.
Add to stew pot with sausage. Add water, wine, ketchup, salt and pepper and Tabasco. Simmer just until potatoes are done. (Don't overcook or potatoes will fall apart). For my stew purists, it's worth noting the broth is thin instead of being a gravy-like consistency to coat the meat and veggies. But who cares when the stew tastes so good!
